DANVILLE, Va.— Averett University men's soccer defeated Ferrum College 3-2 on Wednesday night on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
Averett (5-1-3, 2-0-1 ODAC) was only up 2-1 prior to the 82nd minute. Senior
Hayden Brown was fouled in the box, which gave him a golden opportunity to extend Averett's lead. Brown sent the ball past the goalkeeper to bring the Cougars' lead out to 3-1.

Oliver Kousholt in the fourth minute of play.
Averett scored once more in the first-half after junior
Jonthomas Buckley scored off of a spectacular pass from freshman
Max Gaudry. Ferrum (2-6-0, 0-3-0 ODAC) cut the deficit to 2-1 following a goal in the 74th minute. Ferrum closed the gap even further in the 89th minute, making the match to close for comfort despite only having a minute remaining.
The Cougars are back in action on Sunday when they host Washington and Lee at 1 p.m.
