FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Averett University men's tennis picked up a doubles championship on Day 2 of the ITA Fall Regionals hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Saturday.
Averett's duo of sophomore
Kazuki Fukushima and junior
Jaeden Mukkaladyil won the B1 Doubles championship, beating Washington and Lee University's Jake Vo and Sanjheev Rao 8-4. Fukuskima and Mukkaladyil advanced to the finals after winning 8-2 in the semifinals against Ursinus College's Deniz Finkel and Lars Jespersen.
In the Championship Consolation Round of 32, Averett sophomore
Alex Donnelly fell to Washington College's Aaradith Ravichandran 6-3, 6-4.
Alex Rudy also lost in the same round, falling to Franklin & Marshall College's Zac Ashtiani 6-1, 6-1.
