PROVIDENCE, N.C. — Averett University hosted the second IDA show of the semester and won High Point Team, with freshman Audrey Beckhardt winning High Point Rider two days in a row.
On Saturday, Beckhardt kicked off the test riding at First Level with a near perfect test, being awarded first place as well as High Point Rider for the day. Freshman Elize Idén also rode at First Level and earned a well deserved second place. Senior
Elyse Keeney rode strongly at Upper Training Level and received fourth place in an extremely competitive class. Freshman Carly Williams rode a solid test at Lower Training Level and received third place for her hard work. Sophomore Allison White rode at Introductory Level and took home first place after a lovely test. Freshman Ashlee Study, also at Intro, rode wonderfully and earned third place.
For Dressage Seat Equitation (DSE), Beckhardt started off strong at First Level, walking away with a well earned first place. Keeney, and sophomore
Megan McClelland-Clayton had strong rides at Upper Training DSE, placing second and fourth, respectively. Williams rode at Lower Training DSE and won first place, followed by freshman Mackenzie Joy who earned third place. Study and White rode extremely well in Intro DSE, earning first and second place, respectively.
On Sunday, Beckhardt had another near perfect ride at First Level, taking home first place, as well as High Point Rider for the second day in a row. Idén also rode at First Level and had a very technical ride, placing sixth. Keeney rode at Upper Training Level and had a solid test, receiving third place. Williams rode at Lower Training Level and was awarded first place for a wonderful test. Study and White tested at Intro Level and rode well, placing third and fourth, respectively.
For DSE, Idén had a very strong ride in First Level, earning second place. Keeney rode excellently in Upper Training DSE and earned second place. Joy was awarded first place in Lower Training DSE after a pleasant ride. Williams, also in Lower Training DSE, put forth a good effort and placed fourth after a very technical ride. Study and White ended the competition with great rides in Intro DSE, placing second and third place, respectively.
