DANVILLE, Va. - Averett University men's lacrosse fell on Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium to Greensboro College 14-1 on on Friday night.
Greensboro (2-0) opened up the match scoring five goals in the first quarter, the Pride scored four more goals in the second quarter to take a 9-0 lead into the second half. Averett (0-3) opened up the second half by scoring its lone goal of the night on sophomore

Tigran Ceesay. Greensboro scored four-straight goals to end the game with a 14-1 win over the Cougars.
Defensively, freshman
Giovanni D'Amico had a team-high two caused turnovers in the outing. Five other Cougars recorded one caused turnover each for a team season-high seven. D'Amico also lead the team in ground balls with five. Sophomore goalie

Zac Coleman picked up two face-off wins also, overall the Cougars went 8-19 on face-offs
As a team, Averett recorded 11 shots with six being on goal, scooped up a season-high 33 ground balls
Ceesay's assist gives him the title of the Cougars top point-scorer for the season with five points (2G, 5A). Wood's goal earns him the top-spot for goals on the season with three goals through the first three games.
Averett is back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Roanoke on Wednesday for its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference game of the season. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m.
