The Series: Averett is 14-20 all-time against Lynchburg since the the 1981-82 season when they met for the first time. The Hornets edged the Cougars 78-73 in overtime in Danville on Jan. 17.
Averett at a Glance: Averett University men's basketball team looks to end the season on a positive as the Cougars travel to University of Lynchburg on Saturday. The Cougars, who have lost nine in a row, come in off a narrow 73-67 road loss to Shenandoah University last Saturday. ... Senior Jordan Lewis scored 14 points at Shenandoah to surpasses 900 career points for his career. He now has 903 points entering his final game of the season, which ranks 24th all-time on the program's scoring list. ... Senior Jason Sellars II grabbed a career-high 15 boards against University of Mary Washington, helping him surpass Kenny Joyce (1977-79) for 11th on the Averett all-time career rebounds list. Sellars now has 557 career rebounds following his nine boards against Shenandoah. Bradley Robinson (2012-16) is 10th at 562 career rebounds. Earlier this season, Sellars became the 13th known Averett player to record 500 career rebounds.
