FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Averett mens tennis narrowly fell 4-3 to Washington College (Md.) on Sunday.
Averett (0-2) opened up with strong doubles play, earning the doubles point by wins from freshman
Jaeden Mukkaladyil and
Martin Guyot teamed up to take down Ryohei Kawai and A. Ravichandran 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Sophomores
Prabjeet Chandhok and
Kazuki Fukushima downed Kohl Perkins and Tichi Chialva 6-3.
Chandhok and Fukushima picked up the Cougars two singles wins. Chandhok took down Jorge Urgal Zuleta 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Fukushima downed J. Ludwigstorff 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 6 slot.
Averett is back in action on March 2 when it hosts Lynchburg at 1 p.m.
