ASHLAND, Va. - Averett University men's volleyball fell to Kean University and Randolph-Macon College in a tri-match by scores of 3-0 in each match on Saturday.
In Averett's (0-9) first match of the day freshman
Finn Oakley had a team-high seven kills while
Noah Kaneshiro-Pate had a team-high nine assists. Sophomore
Anibal Lopez chipped in six digs in the loss. Averett fell to Kean (8-9, 0-3 CVC) by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-18.
In the Cougars' second match of the day, Averett and Randolph-Macon (7-7, 2-1 CVC) throughout the first set before the Yellow Jackets scored seven-straight points to take a 21-17 lead before taking the first set 25-20. Randolph-Macon took the next two sets by scores of 25-7 and 25-11.
Oakley had a team-high six kills in the outing while senior
Philipp Bohnenkamp had a career-high three kills. Freshman
Daniel Feliz had two blocks while Kaneshiro-Pate had seven assists an a team-high eight digs.
Averett is back in action next at Carolina University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
