FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Averett University women's lacrosse falters against Methodist University.
The flood gates opened up early as Methodist (4-2) found the back of the net in the game's first minute and never looked back. The Cougars come out of this one licking their wounds after a 17-0 defeat on the road.
Freshman
Kait Cashman had a solid day for Averett (1-3) on the defensive end, causing two Monarch turnovers. Junior
Faith Bowlin did all she could to spark the Cougars offense, amassing 75% of the team's shots on her own. Senior
Kaylee Joblon led Averett in ground balls from the goalkeeper position, where she also recorded five saves.
Averett is back in action against Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, March 23 at 4 p.m. The game kicks off the 2024 Old Dominion Athletic Conference slate for the Cougars, and will be the third game in a four game road swing.
