LYNCHBURG, Va. — Averett University men's tennis secured its first victory of the season at the expense of Randolph College.
Averett (1-4, 1-0 ODAC) opened conference play with a visit to Randolph (6-3, 2-1 ODAC) and the Cougars came away with a 7-2 victory over the WildCats.
Averett won the day's doubles points by taking two out of three, powered by a dominant 8-0 victory from sophomores
Sam Egui and
Martin Guyot.
The Cougars extended the lead that they established early on as the day progressed to singles matches. Averett took five out of six from the WildCats, four of which going the Cougars way in straight sets. Junior

Alex Rudy each logged a win as the Cougars marched to victory.
