DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University women's basketball senior Talia Prosper and sophomore Brianna Sams earned 2023-24 Academic All-District Team honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.

Prosper, a nursing major from Manassas, Virginia, started 22 of the 24 games she played in and averaged 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals this season. Sams, a sports administration major from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, averaged 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds while playing in all 25 games this season.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 grade point average, be a sophomore or higher academically and must be a starter or key contributor.
