VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Averett University men's tennis fell 6-3 to conference foe Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday.
Averett (3-6, 2-1 ODAC) earned two of its three points in doubles play. Sophomores
Alex Donnelly and
Prabjeet Chandhok teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, and sophomores
Martin Guyot and
Sam Egui earned an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
Virginia Wesleyan (7-3, 1-0 ODAC), however, took five of the six singles matches to win. Chandhok's win at No. 4 singles was the only point for the Cougars. He won 6-3, 3-6, 6-0. Averett also had tight matches at No. 2 and No. 5 singles that went three sets.
Averett hosts No. 23 Washington and Lee University on April 6.
