PFAFFTOWN, N.C. — Averett University's equestrian team traveled to Wake Forest University for the first Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) show of the season where Averett was awarded High Point Champion Team. First Level rider sophomore Audrey Beckhart received High Point Rider and sophomore Elize Idén, also at First Level, received Reserve High Point Rider.
For Test rides, Averett started off the day strong, with Beckhardt taking first place in First Level. Idén also rode wonderfully and received second place in First Level. In Upper Training, sophomore
Carly Williams rode well and received first place, along with freshman
Morgan Mockabee, who had a technical ride and placed fifth for Upper Training. For Lower Training, freshman
Katelyn Rufert rode well, taking third, and sophomore
Mackenzie Joy had a solid ride, taking sixth place. Freshmen Kylie Channel and
Hannah Walker had beautiful rides and placed first and second in Introductory Level, respectively. Sophomore
Ashlee Study had a solid ride and placed fifth in Introductory Level.
For Dressage Seat Equitation (DSE), Idén had a wonderful ride, taking second place at First Level. Junior
Megan McClelland-Clayton had a solid ride and placed third for First Level.
Mackenzie Joy placed fifth in a competitive class in Upper Training.
Ashlee Study rode excellently and placed first in Lower Training. Freshmen
Emma Bacchi and Channel had lovely rides and placed third and fifth, respectively.
