The Series: Dating back to the 1988-89 season, Averett is 19-18 all-time against the Apprentice School. The Cougars have won the last two meetings, but the two schools haven't met since the 2008-09 season when Averett won 89-80 in Danville on Nov. 23, 2008.
Averett at a Glance: Averett University men's basketball hosts the Apprentice School in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. The Cougars have been off for more than a week after taking down Greensboro College 82-73 on Nov. 14. ... Following last week's win against Greensboro College, Averett has 499 wins as a program dating back to 1976-77. Current head coach David Doino, Averett's all-time leader in coaching wins, has accounted for 135 of those victories since taking over the program in 2014.
