HARRISONBURG, Va. — Averett University men's volleyball showed grit in a three-set conference loss against Eastern Mennonite University on Friday.
The Royals (8-11, 5-2) defeated the Cougars (2-12, 0-7 ODAC) with scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-22.
Freshman
Liam Audrain executed seven kills for the Cougars' offense, while sophomore
Finn Oakley and junior
Nicholas Breen was not far behind with five a piece. Junior setter
Diego Giffuni tallied eight assists for the Cougars.
On the defense, junior
Anibal Lopez recorded 10 digs and freshman outside hitter
Yerai Collazo had two solo blocks.
The Cougars are back home to continue ODAC play on Wednesday when they host the University of Lynchburg at 6 p.m.
