DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University men's tennis extended its home winning streak to three, as they got past Hampden-Sydney College, 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the Averett Tennis Courts.
The usual three doubles lineups for Averett (5-2, 3-0 ODAC) dispatched Hampden-Sydney (6-6, 0-1 ODAC) to attain the first point in the match.
Singles had minor turbulence, as the Tigers inched their way back slightly, taking the No. 1 singles match, before freshman phenom Cougar
Lucas Fiandra beat Jonathan Fogle, 6-1, 6-2 to go back up 2-1.
Tensions were alleviated soon thereafter, as
Jaeden Mukkaladyil,
Rafael Jodas, and
Prabjeet Chandhok handled their matches to reach the five-point threshold, and extend its ODAC win streak to three.
Averett wraps up the week with a short trip down south to neighbors Guilford College for an ODAC showdown on Sunday, March 23. Start time against the Quakers is set for 1 p.m.
