FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference officially announced its all-conference honors and season awards on Tuesday. Seven Averett University men's wrestlers earned All-ODAC honors for their top-three finish in February's ODAC Championships.

Two Cougars earned All-ODAC First Team accolades for winning conference titles at their respective weight classes. Three-time All-American senior Mason Barrett won the ODAC at 125 pounds before going on to finish third nationally at the NCAA National Championships. Senior Anthony Taylor also won an ODAC title at 157 pounds before going on to be a national qualifier for the second consecutive season.

Four Averett wrestlers finished as the runner-up at the ODAC Championships, earning them All-ODAC Second Team honors. Freshman Andres Cortes (149 pounds), junior Xavier Swanson (165 pounds), junior Jacob Jimenez (197 pounds) and junior Braeden Fluke (285 pounds) all placed second.

Sophomore A.J. Orlando III (133 pounds) and junior Nolan Gerwitz (184 pounds) earned All-ODAC Third Team honors after placing third at the conference championships.
