LYNCHBURG, Va. – Averett University men's lacrosse was dealt a 25-1 loss at No. 13 University of Lynchburg on Saturday night.
Lynchburg (8-5, 5-1 ODAC) played to its strengths all night, with Averett (4-10, 1-6 ODAC) not able to make any chances through the might of the Hornets.
Halfway through the fourth quarter, the Cougars were able to avoid being shutout, with junior
Emmett Wood breaking through, for his 23rd score of the 2025 spring campaign.
Giovanni D'Amico led Averett with three ground balls, and caused two turnovers on the night.
Casey Peterson and
Cory Habick added on a caused turnover each.
Robbie Isenhour tallied his seventh game this season with 15 or more saves, making 16 versus ranked Lynchburg.
The Cougars host their Senior Day this upcoming Friday, April 18, versus No. 8 Washington and Lee University. First faceoff is set for 5 p.m.
