FOREST, Va. – 11 of Averett University's spring student-athletes were tabbed to the 2025 spring ODAC sportsmanship teams on Friday in each of the conference's sponsored sports for the spring season. 121 total student-athletes were selected to the spring sportsmanship team.

The squads are composed of a student-athlete selected by the coaching staffs of each team competing under the conference banner with all sports and schools fully represented.

Named to the list for the Cougars included baseball senior Mason Williams, softball junior Abby Owen, men's golf freshman Nick Baum, men's tennis freshman Rafael Jodas, women's golf junior Sophia Marshall, women's tennis junior Elisa Battermann, men's lacrosse senior Dawson Hobbs, men's outdoor track & field fifth-year Nick Andrews, women's lacrosse senior Sheyla Romero, women's outdoor track & field sophomore Carlota Gonzalez, and men's volleyball sophomore Liam Audrain

"Sportsmanship and respect are fundamental to the ODAC's mission," said ODAC Commissioner Brad Bankston. "These student-athletes have been recognized for their commitment to fair play and respect for their opponents—qualities that deserve greater recognition. I thank these honorees for setting an outstanding example for all of us."

The ODAC has a rich tradition in promoting fair play and good sportsmanship in each sport across the league. The character of the conference's student-athletes on and off the field is a representation of not only the individuals and teams, but also the institutions for which they play.
