DANVILLE, Va. – The 2026 spring slate under Averett University softball second-year coach Anna Coleman has been released.

Averett kicks off the season at Cougar Field on Sunday, Feb. 15 with a doubleheader versus Methodist University. A special themed game is in store for the Cougars on Saturday, Feb. 28, where the Cougars honor veterans in their Military Appreciation Game versus Meredith College. 

"Entering my second season, I believe the foundation has been laid and the culture continues to strengthen", Coleman remarked. "Our players know exactly who we are and how we want to play and I think they are hungry to prove it; this group is committed to getting better every day and I'm excited to see how far that commitment will take us."

Averett then heads back to Raleigh, North Carolina for another edition of the Grand Slam Triangle Softball Classic from March 7 to March 8. ODAC play in the diamond begins for the Cougars on March 21 with a home doubleheader versus Bridgewater College. 

Senior Day takes place on Apr. 18 against Randolph College. From Apr. 15 to the end of the season, Averett plays three out of its last four doubleheaders at home, closing the regular season versus Sweet Briar College on Saturday, Apr. 25. 

The ODAC tournament begins on May 1, with pod play hosted at Moyer Softball Complex in Salem, Virginia.
