DANVILLE, Va. — Averett Unversity men's volleyball fell in straight sets during a doubleheader against Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday.

The Royals (5-6, 2-0 ODAC) defeated the Cougars (3-5, 0-2 ODAC) with scores of 25-13, 31-29 and 25-18 in the first match and 25-19, 25-12 and 25-13 in the second. 

Sophomore Yerai Collazo led the day with 13 total kills, while fellow sophomore Liam Audrain and junior Dominick Jenkins had six a piece. Freshman setter Luke Brown led with 36 assists. 

On the defense, freshman libero Chuck Freedman recorded 14 digs, while Audrain and Jenkins each added a solo block. 

Averett travels to Virginia Beach, Virginia on Thursday for a conference match against Virginia Wesleyan University at 6 p.m. Read Full Article
