DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University women's tennis went two for two on the weekend with a 7-0 sweep of the University of Lynchburg at the Averett Tennis Courts.
Averett (4-2, 3-1 ODAC) pulled a three-for in doubles, taking all the necessary matches to win the first dual point.
Singles went according to plan as well.
Dilara Sultanova,
Brenda Poulakidas, and
Harshri Asher won all their matches in order at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively to seal the deal on the day. Asher's performance capped off a quality weekend, with two wins out of two versus ODAC foes.
Sunna Maas and
Elisa Battermann both one in straight sets without a game dropped, and
Annika Kellerer grinded out a 4-6, 6-3, 10-4 win versus Lynchburg's (5-2, 2-2 ODAC) Ashley Hair.
The Cougars remain at the Averett Tennis Courts on Thursday, March 19 for an ODAC bout versus Bridgewater College. Start time is at 3 p.m.
