FOREST, Va. – Averett University men's tennis duo in senior Sam Egui and sophomore Rafael Jodas were named the ODAC men's tennis Doubles Team of the Week, per the conference offices' announcement on Monday.

Egui, hailing from Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, and Jodas, hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, went 3-0 last week, all versus ODAC opponents. The two defeated pairs from the University of Lynchburg and Roanoke College with two games dropped combined between the sets, then got their best win of the spring with a win over Sahil Arora and Pearce Lane from No. 36 Washington and Lee University. Pushed to a set tiebreak, Egui and Jodas prevailed to cap off the week. 

The pair are 7-4 this season when they have played together. This marks the third time this season that the Cougars have had a pair win team of the week, with Jodas earning his second honor of that kind. 

Overall in 2025-26, it is the fourth overall weekly honor given to Averett men's tennis players.
