CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Averett University men's golf sits in ninth in a tight leaderboard with the second round complete at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Saturday. As a team, Averett is only 12-over-par 288.
The Cougars are led by sophomore
Benjamin Afzelius, who is tied for third at two-under. Afzelius shot 12 pars on the round. Freshman
Lukas Newton joins his teammate in the top-10, as he is tied for seventh at one-under amongst individuals, with an one-under round.

Chase Myers had a plus-two round, and sits tied for 39th. First-year golfer
Nicolas Santoso is tied for 72nd at 10-over, and sophomore
Zach Alway's score is 18-over.
The hosts in Oglethorpe University lead all teams with a two-over score. The Stormy Petrels' Jackson Hiller and Swarthmore College's Dylan Zhang have the individual lead, six-under-par.
Averett finishes the Intercollegiate with round three at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
