Women’s golf up to sixth after round two at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Following an all-round team performance on Saturday at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate, Averett University women's golf is up into sixth with round two in the books at the Paradise Point Scarlet course. The Cougars have a 102-over-par 284 score.

Senior Sophia Marshall maintained her top-10 status following an 11-over round, in solo-sixth place. Sophomore Meredith Pegram had the best individual group out of the four, plus-two and up into the top-20 of individual golfers, tied for 18th. 

Senior Hannah Walton shot five-over in the second round and is tied for 26th, while junior Cooper Perryman is in 49th. 

Hosts Oglethorpe University's collective team score is 39-over-par in first place, and the Stormy Petrels' Elizabeth Powell is even through two rounds. 

Averett tees off for the third and final round at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
