CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Averett University women's golf ended its stay at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon with round three. Averett did not post an overall team score to finish, but sophomore
Meredith Pegram ended her tournament, shooting five-over as she jumped into a tied-10th position at 26-over-par.
Pegram's day included a hole-in-one, and a par score on the back nine to solidify her position. The sophomore posted the 10th best par-three average at a 3.40 clip, and was eighth in par-fours with a 4.48 average. She also tied for eighth in overall birdies with four.
The Cougars' other finisher, junior
Cooper Perryman, finished tied for 43rd, with a 60-over score.
The host school, Oglethorpe University, won as a team by 35 strokes, and Pfeiffer University's Kirstyn Page won the individual tournament at four-over.
Averett's next tournament comes at the ODAC championships from Apr. 26-28, at Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia.
