AMHERST, Va. – Averett men's golf is tied for seventh place following the completion of the second round at the ODAC men's golf championship on Monday at Poplar Grove Golf Club. The team is a combined 56-over-par 576.
Averett's highest riser in the individual standings, sophomore
Zach Alway, was the tied-ninth best golfer score-wise, as he shot four over to go up 16 spots and finds himself tied for 24th. Alway made three birdies in the round. Freshman
Chase Myers remains the highest placed out of the Cougars, tied for 11th at 10-over, with four birdies.
Freshman Nicholas Santoso shot six-over en route to his 22-over overall score, in 45th. Freshman
Lukas Newton is tied for 28th, following a 10-over round, with two birdies and seven pars. Sophomore
Benjamin Afzelius went 14-over-par in the second round.
Guilford College rose up the team standings to lead all teams at 34-over, and Washington and Lee University's Jonathan McEwen in solo first at three-over.
Averett heads into the third and final round of play of the ODAC Championship tomorrow morning.
