TEMPE, Ariz. – Averett University women's tennis checked back into the national rankings, at 75th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) rankings released on Wednesday.
Averett (13-3, 8-1 ODAC) ended the regular season on a heater, having lost just a single match in April, and undefeated versus Division-III opponents in that stretch. Since their last appearance in the national standings, the Cougars recorded 7-0 sweeps over Shenandoah University, Salem College, and Sweet Briar College.
No. 14 Washington and Lee University and Averett are the ODAC's sole contingents in the ITA rankings. The Cougars are in waiting for their upcoming quarterfinal opponent in next week's ODAC tournament beginning Wednesday, Apr. 29.
