TEMPE, Ariz. – Averett University men's tennis moved up to 58th in the Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) rankings, released on Apr. 29.
Averett (9-7) most recently kick-started its ODAC tournament title defense with a 4-1 win over the University of Lynchburg on Tuesday. Exactly like the men's tennis rankings have been over the course of the spring, the ODAC's five tennis elites remain. It is lead by 41st-ranked Shenandoah University, then no. 43 Washington and Lee University.
No. 49 Randolph College is next, followed by 55th-ranked Virginia Wesleyan University. Averett comes in as the fifth-highest ranked team in the conference.
The Cougars get a chance to avenge their loss to Shenandoah earlier this season, with a re-match in the conference tournament semifinals on Saturday, May 2.
