Elisa Battermann and junior
Dilara Sultanova were named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Doubles Team of the Week, and Sultanova was also named the Singles Player of the Week, as announced by the conference offices on Monday.
9-1 as a team in 2025-26; Battermann, hailing from Zeist, the Netherlands, and Sultanova, hailing from Izmir, Turkey, defeated teams from Division-II Johnson C. Smith University and Randolph College at the first doubles slot. Battermann and Sultanova first knocked off the Golden Bulls' Divija Manneni and Maykayla Ramos, 6-3, then took down the WildCats' Sophia Cahue and Fleur Gaalman, 6-3.
The junior Sultanova won singles players honors with an undefeated week of her own. Against Johnson C. Smith's Divija Manneni, she won 6-3, 6-4. Over the weekend, she helped Averett to a sweep of Randolph with a 6-2, 6-3 win versus Fleur Gaalman.
These honors up Averett's weekly honor tally to six this season, and four in doubles.
