DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University Director of Athletics Communications Dominik Pocrnja announced the addition of Jackson Higgins '26 to his staff as a graduate assistant for athletics communications.

Higgins, a former four-year athlete for the men's wrestling team, compiled a win-loss record of 27-34 over his collegiate career. In 2024-25, he placed fifth at the Apprentice School Builder Invitational; and the following season, finished third at the Lycoming College Invitational. For his efforts, Higgins was recognized with multiple coaches' awards. Off the mat, Higgins earned ODAC All-Academic Team honors in 2025-26, and has been on the Dean's List.

Hailing from Midlothian, Virginia, Higgins graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration in the spring of 2026. He is pursuing a master's in business administration from Averett.
