How Averett helped me:
"Football helped me determine who I wanted to be in this world. The coaches challenged me to not only be a great athlete but to also be a leader. Coach Coleman taught me that we must sharpen and hone the tools of our trade. Greatness can be achieved through having a sharp mind and the ability to fully use your skills. You may have an area of weakness, but your strengths can outshine any failings. My teammates taught me the lesson of loyalty and brotherhood. Football in general fortified my faith in a team's ability to connect under a common goal."
