PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. — Sophomore
Anthony Ponce-Mexicano finished fourth-place over in the men's 8k run as Averett University cross country competed at the Hagan Stone Classic on Saturday.
Ponce-Mexicano finished with a time of 28:49.58 while senior
Michael Nichols posted a time of 31:53.73 to finish in 14th place.
In the women's 6k the Cougars posted four top 20 finishes as senior
Jahdayna Samuels led Averett with a time of 25:30.34, while junior
Rebekah Chase finished just behind her with a time of 27:24.26.
Additionally senior
Kayla Sisco turned in a time of 31:38.79 and junior
Ashley Navarro completed the Cougars run with a time of 37:28.00.
The Cougars are back in action on Friday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Farmville, Virginia for the Longwood University Lancer Pink Open.
