DANVILLE, Va. — Averett University men's and women's cross country announced its 2023 schedule in its second season as members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

"I am personally excited to coach my first cross country season since coming to Averett in January," said head coach Kameron Blanding, director of cross country/track and field. "There will be some new faces and I'm looking forward to seeing how they grow alongside returners Tony Ponce-Mexicano and
Keith Johnson."
The Cougars open the season when they travel to Elon, North Carolina, to compete in the Elon University Opener on Sept. 1.
Averett has its next race in Misenheimer, North Carolina, at Pfeiffer University Invitational on Sept. 16. Following Pfeiffer, the Cougars are set to compete in the Snelling Cancer Classic on Oct. 6 in Louisburg, North Carolina.
The Cougars travel to Salem, Virginia, on Oct. 13 to compete at the Roanoke College Cross Country Invitational as its final tuneup before the conference meet. The ODAC Championships are scheduled for Oct. 28.
The NCAA South Regionals are scheduled for Nov. 11 with the NCAA Nationals set for Nov. 18 in Newville, Pennsylvania.
