PROVIDENCE, N.C. — Averett University hosted the second IDA show of the semester and won High Point Team. Additionally, sophomore
Carly Williams won High Point Rider two days in a row and sophomore Elize Idén earned Reserve High Point Rider on Day 2.
On Saturday, sophomore
Audrey Beckhardt kicked off the test riding at First Level with a near perfect test, being awarded second place. Idén also rode at First Level and earned a well deserved third place. Willims had a lovely ride in Upper Training Level receiving first place and got High Point rider of the day.
Freshman
Morgan Mockabee rode a solid test at Upper Training Level and received fifth place for her hard work. In Lower Training Level sophomore
Mackenzie Joy had an amazing ride receiving third place, sophomore Kathlyn Rufert had a solid ride and placed fifth, and freshmen
Sarah Scearce had a challenging ride and placed sixth.
Sophomore
Ashlee Study rode at Introductory Level and took home first place after a lovely test. Freshman
Hannah Meyerhoeffer, also at Intro, rode wonderfully and earned second place. Later on freshmen
Hannah Walker rode well and received third place, freshmen
Kylie Channell finishing up with a forth place.
For Dressage Seat Equitation (DSE), Idén started off strong at First Level, walking away with a well earned first place with junior
Megan McClelland-Clayton right behind her with a second place. Joy and Mockabee had strong rides at Upper Training DSE, placing second and sixth, respectively. Study rode at Lower Training DSE and won first place, followed by Scearce who earned second place. Channell and freshman
Emma Bacchi rode well in Intro DSE, earning third and fourth place, respectively.
On Sunday, Idén had a great ride at First Level, taking home first place, as well as reserve High Point Rider for the day. Beckhardt also rode at First Level and had a very lovely ride, placing second. Williams rode at Upper Training Level and had a wonderful test, winning and receiving High Point Rider for the second day in a row. Mockabee also rode in Upper Training Level and had a solid ride and took fourth place. Joy rode at Lower Training Level and was awarded first place for a wonderful test. Rufert and Scearce took second and fifth place, respectively in Lower Training Level. Channell tested in Intro level and had a wonderful ride and won the class. Also in Intro Level, Walker, Study and Mayerhoeffer had solid rides placing second, third and sixth, respectively.
For DSE, McClelland-Clayton had a very strong ride in First Level, earning second place, Idén receiving third. Joy and Mockabee rode excellently in Upper Training DSE and earned third and sixth place, respectively. Study was awarded first place in Lower Training DSE after a pleasant ride, Scearce getting right behind with a second place. Bacchi and Kylie ended the competition with challenging rides in Intro DSE, receiving fourth and fifth place, respectively.
