DANVILLE, Va. – Averett baseball head coach
Billy McLaughlin announced the hiring of former Cougar outfielder
Mason Williams '25 to his coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
An outfielder, Williams played 108 games for the Cougars, finishing with a .308 batting average, 114 hits, three home runs, and a .407 on-base percentage. Off the diamond, Williams is a three-time ODAC All-Academic team honoree, and earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators in 2025, as well as being named to the ODAC Spring Sportsmanship team that same season.
Heralding from Mechanicsville, Virginia, Williams graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and criminal justice, and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in business administration from Averett.
