FOREST, Va. – Averett University men's tennis had six players nominated to the 2025-26 Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Conference team, unveiled by the conference offices on Wednesday afternoon.

On the first team for singles is sophomore Lucas Fiandra. Fiandra, hailing from Montevideo, Uruguay, previously made the 2024-25 Second Team as a No. 6 singles selection, and bumped up a team in 2025-26 following a 17-3 season that saw him win all six of his conference matches primarily playing at No. 3. Fiandra defeated two opponents from ranked teams, which included then No. 66 Randolph College's Vincenzo Marchese in three sets, and previously No. 39 ranked Shenandoah University's Lucas Beasley by the same margin. Fiandra also carried the team's best winning streak into the end of the season, having won his last eight in a row.

Fiandra debuts on the first team in doubles, making the No. 1 doubles list with junior Alex Rudy, hailing from Minsk, Belarus. The two were a 10-6 duo, with a 9-6 record playing at the top slot, and went 5-2 in ODAC contests.

The Cougars' other first team doubles selection came in the form of sophomore Florian Bert and senior Alex Donnelly. A steady partnership for two straight seasons; Bert, hailing from Frankfurt am Main, Germany and Donnelly, hailing from Naas, Ireland, made the all-conference team for the second year running, moving up from the second team in 2024-25. The two were near unstoppable, as they were 12-5 in all matches, 10-2 from the second spot, and won all eight of their conference matches.

Two players made the second team in singles, the first being sophomore Roger Pamies Petit gets his first all-conference nod at No. 5 singles. Hailing from Reus, Spain, Pamies Petit's 20 singles wins were a team-best after a breakout season in which he won nine from the fifth spot, seven of which came from ODAC matches. Like his fellow teammate in Fiandra, Pamies Petit defeated multiple opponents from ranked conference foes. He knocked off Shenandoah's Siddharrth Rajagopalan twice in the span of three weeks, and won versus Randolph's Jason Duval.

Senior Sam Egui ends his storied Averett tenure with his first all-ODAC selection at No. 6 singles. Hailing from Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, Egui was a mainstay in the Cougar singles lineup for multiple years. He anchored a rock-solid 12-5 record, and won 10 matches from the back spot. In conference matches, Egui was 7-1, tied for the most conference wins out of his teammates.

With seven total all-conference awards in 2025-26, head coach Bert Poole has now totaled 20 ODAC all-conference selections since the school was admitted in 2022-23. In his coaching tenure, Poole's overall number stands at 35 across his time in USA South and the ODAC.
