Men's basketball freshman Corey Baldwin was named the USA South Conference Rookie of the Week on Jan. 27. Baldwin, a guard from Henderson, North Carolina, averaged 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as the Cougars posted a 2-0 record last week against USA South competition. In a 90-56 win over Greensboro College on Jan. 21, Baldwin posted nine points, six rebounds and two steals. In the victory over Pfeiffer University on Jan. 25, Baldwin scored a career-high 17 points with seven rebounds, one assist and one steal as the Cougars won their sixth game in a row.
