Biography

How Averett helped me:
"Playing volleyball for Averett from 1984-88 helped me first and foremost to develop confidence in myself as a person.  We moved around a great deal throughout my K-12 education and I never developed roots, nor felt like part of a "team."  Attending Averett helped me establish roots, lifelong friendships and confidence.  The female sports programs have truly morphed into a higher quality competition than when I was given the opportunity to play, but I will always be grateful for the chance to be a part of a team who worked hard and played hard together!"
