How Averett helped me:
"Having the opportunity to play volleyball at Averett was more than just getting to play the sport that I loved at the collegiate level. Being a student-athlete at Averett allowed me to gain leadership characteristics on the court as well as leadership opportunities off of the court through SAAC and SGA. It helped me grow as a person, learn new things and how to deal with different situations that you wouldn’t necessarily go through as just a student. Athletics helps you become a well rounded person, being a student-athlete you gain insight, understanding, determination, teamwork (etc.), and it ultimately prepares you for being a successful person in life. Without Averett Athletics or Averett University I wouldn’t be the person I am today."
