Beth Buckwalter Pimsaen excelled in both tennis and cross country from 1995 to 1999. As a runner, Pimsean was named the USA South Conference Rookie of the Year in 1995. She earned all-state honors her freshman and sophomore year, and became the first female student-athlete in the conference's history to be named First Team All-Conference for four consecutive years. She helped Averett compete in two NCAA South Regionals (1997 and 1998). In tennis, she was the conference's 1996 singles champion at the No. 6 spot and won the No. 3 singles title in 1999. Additionally, she teamed up to earn the conference's No. 2 doubles championship in 1999. As a star athlete, Pimsaen was also an outstanding student. In 1999, she received the Mary C. Fugate Award for the Graduating Senior with the Highest GPA, and the year before, she was given the Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award. 

Pimsaen was later named as one of Averett's representatives on the USA South Conference's 50th anniversary women's cross country team.

She was inducted into the Averett Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 3, 2015.
