Averett University Athletics

Garry Pritchett played men's basketball and competed on the track and field team as well during his time at Averett. Pritchett led the Cougars' basketball team to a 10-4 record and a second-place finish in the conference during his freshman season in 1978. On the court, he converted on 47 percent of his career field goal attempts.

In track, Pritchett was the 1979 conference long jump and triple jump champion.

Pritchett was named the 2002 Averett Outstanding Alumnus Award winner.

Pritchett was inducted into the Averett University Cougar Club Hall of Fame on Oct. 11, 2003.
