Paige Aaron Echols was a four-year member of the Averett volleyball team, playing from 2009-12. The defensive specialist/libero is fourth all-time in program history with 1,771 career digs for an average of 4.28 digs per set. The native of Danville, Virginia, appeared in 414 sets over 128 matches while compiling 210 service aces. Echols became Averett's first two-time Academic All-America selection as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) when she was named to the All-America Second Team in 2011 and First Team in 2012 after being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team both years. Echols was the 2011-12 USA South Conference Don Scalf Award recipient and 2011-12 Averett Female Student-Athlete of the Year. A four-time USA South Academic All-Conference and three-time Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State selection, Echols earned USA South Honorable Mention and Third Team honors as well as VaSID All-State Second Team recognition on the court during her time. She also garnered a spot on the 2011 USA South All-Tournament Team. Echols also was named to the USA South's 50th Anniversary Volleyball Team in 2013.

Echols was inducted into the Averett Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 19, 2019.
