Averett University Athletics Hall of Fame
Todd Parsons was a four-year member of the Averett University football program from 2003-06. At quarterback, Parsons set the school record for total offense yards with 4,848 in his career, including 1,997 in the 2005 season. He completed 322 of 624 passes for 4,662 yards over four seasons, including a school-record 42 passing touchdowns to go with four rushing touchdowns. Parsons passes for 275 or more yards three times over his career, including a then-program-record 361 yards against Maryville to help Averett clinch a share of the 2006 USA South Conference regular season championship — a first in program history. Parsons was named to the 2005 and 2006 USA South All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. A team co-captain as a senior, Parsons also earned a spot on the D3football.com National Team of the Week in 2006 and USA South Offensive Player of the Week once. In the classroom, he also earned USA South Academic All-Conference accolades.
Parsons also interned with the Averett football coaching staff during the 2007 spring semester following the completion of his playing career.
In 2013, Parsons was selected to the USA South’s 50th Anniversary football team.
Parsons was inducted into the
Averett Athletics Hall of Fame on Oct. 17, 2020.
