Janne Mommo, who played the men's golf team from 2000-03, was inducted into the Averett Cougar Club Hall of Fame on Aug. 6, 2011, during an induction ceremony in Helsinki, Finland.

Mommo played on Averett's 2003 NCAA National Championship team and was the individual champion of the tournament. The 2003 Arnold Palmer Award recipient also earned All-American honors in 2000, 2001 and 2003 and helped the Cougars get to the NCAA Tournament in 2001, 2002 and 2003. The 2000 conference rookie of the year, Mommo was made the all-conference first team in 2001 and 2003, as well as the all-conference second team in 2000 and 2002.

In addition, he was also Cleveland Golf & Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar in 2003.

Mommo graduated from Averett in 2003 and went on to play professional golf.

In 2017, Mommo was inducted into the USA South Conference Hall of Fame.
